The Company offers a broad range of planning, engineering design, environmental, construction observation, program and construction management and a wide range of specialized technical services for the U.S. federal government, state and local government agencies. We provide services for transportation, bridges, site development, environmental services, water/wastewater engineering, Survey and right of way engineering and services. BLN is proud to provide our employees with exciting and challenging projects and is currently seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief for their Indianapolis location.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage one or two person field crews for both public and private sector projects
  • Complete topographic and route surveys using total stations, GPS and three-dimensional laser scanning surveying equipment
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment such as three-dimensional laser scanners, GPS units, total stations, data collectors and digital levels
  • Provide guidance and support to other field and office survey technicians
  • Stake right-of-way parcels
  • Read and interpret road plan sheets
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years as a crew leader
  • High School diploma required
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Organize and handle multiple project assignments.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team to achieve goals and provide quality work
