Job Posting for Co-op, Cell Process Development at Beam Therapeutics
Beam is seeking for a dynamic co-op student to join Cellular Process Development team from July through December 2024. The candidate will support the process development and characterization activities of hematopoietic stem & progenitor cells (HSPCs) and BEAM-101 drug product manufacturing process. In addition to that, the individual will be responsible for the routine production, screening, characterization of Lipids Nanoparticles (LNPs) in support of process development studies. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about learning new techniques and processes. This role involves collaboration and communication with other teams within Beam, including LNP, Automation, Analytical Research and Development.
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day activities including HSPCs’ isolation and banking, editing, culture, cryopreservation, and characterization.
- Participate in assay development, optimization, testing of new LNP formulation and protocols.
- Maintain detailed documentation of experiments in the ELN system.
- Document, summarize and present studies and findings to internal audience.
- Help and learn new techniques as needed to be a cross-functional worker.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a BS or MS in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, or related disciplines.
- Prior knowledge of cell-based techniques used in biotechnology company preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis.
- Prior experience with maintaining a lab notebook and following written protocols.
- Motivated to learn and detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be a team player, comfortable working collaboratively and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
