What are the responsibilities and job description for the BARTENDER position at Bear s Restaurant Group?
Position Summary:
This position plays a major role in a guest’s dining and/or bar experience. Consistency is a key element in a positive experience, which is achieved by always following recipes. A bartender must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A bartender should be organized and able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Practice safe food handling and cleanliness at all times
- Accurately input orders into computers, handle money, make change, and process credit card transactions
- Communicate and interact with Guests in a friendly manner, at respective volume & handle crowds and put Guests at ease
- Maintain clean and organized Cash-Out station and ensures back-ups are stocked for the next shift
- Communicate with other team members to ensure order accuracy and guest satisfaction. \\
- Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes
- Check Guest ID and adhere to responsible service of alcohol policy
- Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with Bears Restaurant Group
- Wash and sterilize stemware
- Offer assistance before the guest has to ask for it
Requirements:
Candidate must be able to:
- Maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time while performing with quality and accuracy.
- Withstand exposure to possible food allergens including but not limited to; meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils
- Withstand exposure to and work with cleaning chemicals.
- Lift up to 40lbs constantly.
- Lift from floor to shoulder constantly and overhead infrequently.
- Twist, reach, & bend frequently.
- Listen to and comprehend instructions from Leads, Managers, and coworkers over background restaurant and equipment noise constantly
- Frequently wash hands.
- Adhere to schedule and be on time for shifts
- Adhere to company uniform and appearance policy
Skills/Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:
- 18 years of age.
- Valid T.I.P.S. Certification (or ability to obtain within first 2 weeks of employment)
- High School degree or equivalent preferred and/or 1 year experience in related industry.
- Good communication skills, friendly and polite demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills; Team player
- Ability to count and perform basic math functions
