What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truss Builder position at Beau Trusses?
Purpose of Position: Works to place connector plate at each truss joint by hammering in place, rolling a machine over the truss to embed the connector plate, send the truss through the finished press, and then move each assembled truss to the yard for delivery preparation.
Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without reasonable accommodation).
Ensures that components are fabricated to established company guidelines.
Works with various building materials, including wood and metal.
Assist in work area setup and cleanup.
Fits parts together in accordance with the prescribed manner and in accordance with quality standards.
Operates hand tools, saws, presses, and pneumatic staple and nail guns as required to complete the assembly process.
Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover label and band components to finish the product.
Inspects materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
Listen and follow Supervisor’s instructions for any changes to building plans.
Attends staff, departmental meetings, and safety and health training, as required, on time.
Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
Observes and practices all safety procedures and policies.
Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies procedures (e.g., safety glasses, earplugs, face shields, etc.) to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person unless they prove unable to perform them after receiving training and/or accommodations that the company judges appropriate).
Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
Demonstrate ability to use and operate hand tools, including reading a tape measure and using a hammer.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, as well as work alone.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly; 100 lbs. maximum lift.
Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses.
Must be able to hear running machinery.
Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively.
Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination.
Must regularly be able to reach overhead.
Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist, and stand.
Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally.
Experience and Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Work Conditions:
May be exposed to extreme outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, or cold and wet condition.
Noise is generally loud.
