Position Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Middle School Coding Instructor to lead our CODEcamp program at the Beaufort Digital Corridor. As an instructor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate young minds in the exciting world of programming and computer science. This is a 1099 contractor position, and we will provide training to ensure you have the necessary skills to effectively teach the curriculum. 


Responsibilities: 

● Conduct engaging and interactive coding sessions for middle school students, focusing on fundamental programming concepts, problem-solving skills, and the creation of simple projects. 

● Develop and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans and hands-on activities that align with the curriculum and program objectives. 

● Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging collaboration and creativity among students. 

● Provide guidance and support to students during individual and group coding activities. 

● Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate their learning and growth. 

● Maintain accurate attendance records and prepare reports on student performance and achievements.

● Collaborate with other instructors and program coordinators to ensure a smooth and successful camp 

experience. 

● Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance your instructional skills and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in coding and technology. 


Qualifications: 

● Prior experience teaching or tutoring middle school students in coding or computer science concepts is preferred. 

● Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in middle school curriculum, such as Scratch, Python, or JavaScript. 

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. 

● Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the diverse learning needs of students. 

● Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for teaching coding to young learners. 

● A passion for technology and a genuine interest in inspiring the next generation of programmers. 


Contract Details: 

This position is a 1099 contractor role, with a duration of one week for the middle school code camp. Hourly rates for instructors start at $25 per hour. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. 


Note: We provide comprehensive training for all instructors, including an overview of the curriculum. Our aim is to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully deliver the code camp program with your own style.
