GENERAL SUMMARY: The Clerkship Coordinator is responsible for administration of the clerkship program as defined by the clerkship curriculum established by the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWBSOM) and Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinates educational schedules, including establishing the annual calendar, scheduling medical student rotations and facilitating medical student department orientation process.
- Provides administrative support for the department. Liaison with the UGME office at Beaumont and the OUWBSOM.
- Assists in maintaining Clerkship curriculum and ensures compliance with LCME accreditation requirements.
- Ensures clerkship evaluations are completed in a timely manner. Maintains evaluation documents and data in the appropriate files and systems as required by OUWBSOM.
- Serves as departmental contact for medical students, assisting in the resolution of issues as necessary.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree or high school diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Medical Administration.
Other Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, superior organizational skills, demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications.
