PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Campus Attendance Coordinator will monitor the attendance of all students on campus for loss of credit due to attendance. They will coordinate with grade level assistant principals to ensure student(s) are placed on the appropriate principal’s plan and has completed attendance recovery.
This position requires home visits to further ensure students are meeting attendance requirements and foster greater relationships with our stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Highly Qualified Paraprofessional (HQ)
- 2 year Associates Degree or comparable certification, preferred
- School District experience, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work well with parents.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skills in typing, word processing and online programs
- Ability to use computer, software and scanner
- Strong organizational skills
Experience:
- Experience working with adults and or children
- Working district/state/federal laws and regulations relating to child welfare and attendance
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Serve as a liaison between the school and home of all students on assigned campuses.
- Communicate with parents frequently using a variety of methods.
- Manage grade level principal’s attendance documentation plans
- Manage student’s attendance recovery plans to ensure compliance.
- Attend campus and district meetings that as requested.
- Maintain and distribute parent education resources on campuses.
- Confer regularly with the campus administrator regarding matters related to student attendance and welfare.
- Recommend pupil referrals to the school principal or designee for such agencies as the child guidance clinics, family service and placement agencies, and to other institutions and school as directed.
- Assist Campus Administrator to coordinate, refer and submit the School Attendance Review Board referrals to District SARB.
- Participate in in-service training of school personnel in matters related to student attendance and welfare.
- Investigate non-attendance to insure legality of absence excuses.
