Position Summary
The Hanford Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) is looking for a Receiving Inspection and Test (RI&T) Supplier Quality Inspector in Richland, WA.
RI&T SQ Inspector performs and documents receiving inspection activities for acceptance of procured items and material. Responsibilities include inspections, testing, and Quality Documentation reviews of procured material / equipment to ensure received and / or tested items conform to the WTP project quality and technical requirements.
This position will report to the RI&T supervisor. As project needs vary the SQ Inspector will be responsible for additional responsibilities within the RI&T work scope.
The successful candidate must have strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, the ability to work independently, proven problem-solving abilities, and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities
- Interfaces with the RI&T Supervisor for direction and assignments.
- Performs inspection and testing in accordance with project procedures, requirements defined in Purchase Orders and Material Acceptance Plans (MAP) / Material Receiving Instructions (MRI).
- Performs in-depth reviews of Quality Verification Document packages (e.g., MTRs, NDE reports, PMI reports, pressure test reports, etc.
both at the WTP site and at remote supplier locations.
- Performs physical inspections activities both at the WTP site and at remote supplier locations.
- Prepares and / or completes technical and administrative documents and detailed inspection reports associated with inspections and tests including commercial grade dedication (CGD) testing, and testing performed in accordance with nonconformance report Engineering dispositions.
- Maintains databases through established project standard computer applications.
- Provides reports of inspection and test results to engineering for evaluation when required.
- Provides technical and administrative direction or guidance to RI&T personnel.
- Maintains direct working relationship with Project Procurement, discipline Field Engineers, Project Engineers, Automation Support, Project Superintendents, and Craft personnel.
- Attain and maintain required training and qualification for RI&T SQ inspector as identified in the SQ quality programs and specified by the Supplier Quality Manager in individual training profiles.
- Manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications
or in lieu of formal degree, a minimum of 12years of experience in a field of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, or quality assurance.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
- Possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
Additional Qualifications
- Possess working Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and methodology.
- Experience with major commodities typically procured for global business unit projects, recognized Codes and Standards, manufacturing methods, inspection / examination / testing techniques, and document review and implementation.
- Familiarity with Engineering P&ID and Drawing development for use in document review is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advance experience of Microsoft Office programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and email, etc. (i.e., Outlook, WORD, Excel, Adobe Acrobat).
- Physical ability to walk on uneven surfaces typically found at construction and operating plant sites, climb ladders, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
- Reasoning skills for problem identification and resolution.
- Familiar with the use of standard measuring and test equipment (M&TE) used to perform inspection and testing.
- Prior Bechtel experience including knowledge of Bechtel Procurement System.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards associated with the design, construction, and procurement of nuclear facilities.
- Technical and working knowledge of Department of Energy (DOE) Order 414.1, NQA-1, and 10 CFR 830 and their application for a nuclear related project.
- Good working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as ASME, D1.1, B31.1, B31.3 and AWS.
- Level II Qualified Inspector with a minimum 6,000 hours in method.
