Based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee this position reports to the Disbursements Billing, Controller Systems and/or Project Services Manager and interfaces with deployed finance personnel, GBU management and project teams globally to resolve project issues.
This position will rotate through the various Controller Departments to fully understand the accounting core processes.
The primary responsibilities for this position include ensuring the integrity of the billing process, reviewing unbilled cost data and reconciliations, providing guidance to resolve held or aged items, acting as liaison with procurement and Accounts Payable to help in billing coordination and minimization or elimination of rework, and coordinating JADB setup/changes as needed for both existing and new projects to ensure proper handling and billing of costs. Other duties include performing detailed analysis of cost and recoveries of transactions and balances, coordinating closely with process owners to ensure transactions are coded correctly and implement corrective action as required. Additional duties will be assigned as required, including analysis of accounting or financial data and problems, preparation of routine working papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or 7 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. Able to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Must be willing to relocate to Project Sites
- Must have knowledge of professional accounting and/or financial concepts and principles.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, and software operations as applied to accounting and related functions.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, focus on details, and provide extra effort to meet priorities and deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Requires knowledge of U.S. government indirect rate applications, Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to function in a matrix organization and simultaneously handle numerous tasks of varying degrees of complexity.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team and use good judgment in the execution of assigned tasks including the ability to seek direction as needed.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Prior Oracle Financials experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Requires working knowledge of project accounting systems, organization, and procedures.
