Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial patient assessments to determine the urgency of care required, utilizing clinical judgment and triage protocols.
- Prioritize patient care based on the severity of conditions and direct patients to appropriate treatment areas or specialists.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding care plans and condition updates.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as needed in a fast-paced environment.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively in the patient care record.
- Collaborate with the emergency department team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay abreast of best practices in emergency nursing and triage procedures.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure.
- BLS, ACLS, certification required.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred.
- PALS () certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Proven experience in emergency nursing, with strong clinical skills in patient assessment and triage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick, accurate decisions and effectively manage emergency situations.
