Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies is hiring a Director of Pharmacy to oversee our retail and long-term care pharmacy in Auburn. The candidate should demonstrate a high-level level of business acumen. The Director will create, modify, and execute in-store and overall company business strategies to drive revenue and achieve individual, store, and company goals. Job Summary
The Director of Medical Pharmacy will:
· Be an ambassador for Bedard and its mission and core values
· Oversee the operations and management for the retail and long-term care pharmacy
· Be responsible for the financial success and goals of the division
· Develop and implement policies and procedures
· Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in pharmacy practice
· Actively seek opportunities to improve efficiencies and customer experience
· Establish and maintain relationships with long-term care facilities
· Be responsible for patient, customer, and employee satisfaction
· Provide leadership and guidance to pharmacy staff
· Conduct group and individual meetings with managers on a regular basis
· Work with other Directors and Executives to improve communication and collaboration between divisions
· Interview, hire, and train direct reports
· Complete performance evaluations and other requirements established by HR
· Manage employee issues and resolve grievances in conjunction with HR
· Establish KPIs for staff
· Be responsible and accountable to ensure pharmacies are managed within federal and state regulatory standards and/or guidelines
· Provide backup support on the schedule for pharmacists
Qualifications
· Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
· License in good standing with Maine Board of Pharmacy
· Proficient computer skills
· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential
· Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including medication therapy management and drug information services
· Analytical ability to implement innovative ideas to improve efficiencies
· A desire to innovate and improve the pharmaceutical industry
· The need to better the lives of those in our communities
· Strong leadership skills and ability to coach staff
· Ability to work independently, make decisions, and delegate
· Critical thinking skills
· Ability to multitask
· Management experience preferred
· Knowledge of both retail and long-term care pharmacy preferred
· General business and finance knowledge preferred
Physical Requirements
· Sitting, standing, and/or walking for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally
· Occasional reaching, grasping, lifting, and carrying up to 25 lbs. below waist level and at or above shoulder level
· Repetitive walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
