About the Position:
The Product Manager will play a key role in working with the CEO, Chief Science Officer, Product Design, Product Development and Product Marketing teams to define and execute a product vision with a particular focus around BEDGEAR’s smart bedding offerings and their associated mobile apps. This role will lead the full product life cycle from inception through to delivery targeting both retail partner and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels.
The Product Manager will be responsible for guiding the development process in line with third-party vendors and will act as a key partner during the implementation process. The Product Manager will need to liaison with Operations, Consumer Marketing as well as Consumer and Retail Customer Support teams to determine their needs on successfully packaging and shipping the smart bedding products. The Product Manager will need to be both the consumer and retail partner “end user” and have insight into how to unpackage the smart bedding products as well as how to sell the products in store at a retail location.
The Product Manager will support the Director of Product Marketing and Communications and be responsible for owning smart bedding and other bedding categories and help spearhead the execution of key launches to propel BEDGEAR’s business forward.
Besides developing consistent product messaging across all deliverables from packaging to website copy, you will support product launch plans, timelines, and cross-departmental processes.
What's Expected (including but not limited to):
- Take Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) based on competitive analyses and turn them into Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).
- Translate the product vision, including mobile apps, into a roadmap of features and benefits that can be executed by the design and development teams.
- Gather, translate, document, and prioritize the product expectations and communicate them to all internal stakeholders
- Develop competitor matrix spreadsheets of products, features, and benefits
- Create internal communication documents clearly explaining the product vision to internal stakeholders, including Sales, Digital/eCommerce, Sleep Coaches, Strategic Partnerships, Planning & Forecasting, Public Relation/Communications/Brand Management.
- Develop content for internal training and sales enablement materials, including product FAQs (frequently asked questions), demo scripts, Sell Sheets, sales PowerPoint decks, videos, new product/packaging release communications, etc.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing and Communications and Merchandising team on developing written product roadmaps.
- Develop customer-facing marketing assets to support product storytelling, including product videos, website copy, retailers’ landing pages, and blog posts, to articulate the benefits of BEDGEAR’s products to the world.
- Partner with the Communications team on product messaging for press releases and blog posts.
- Ensure the consumer journey is consistent across all deliverables, channels and regions regardless if it is web, mobile friendly, downloadable apps or in-store.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
- High-school Diploma or GED
- English Proficient (reading, writing, speaking/listening, comprehension)
- Ability to travel up to 10% of time
Education/Experience/License Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience with diverse marketing responsibilities, including familiarity with product management, product launches, product marketing, competitive research/analysis, sales enablement tools, etc.
- Must have product technology rollout experience, including creating mobile app user experience, scheduling firmware updates, determining specifications and delivery timetables for strategic planning.
- Successful candidates will have a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of product production from conception through release with an emphasis on driving end-to-end delivery of a technical product, including both hardware and downloadable applications.
- Experience working with all internal stakeholders, seniority levels and departments.
- Excellent writer and communicator
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and digital assessment management tools
