Designer/Drafter – High-Growth Working at Heights Access Equipment Manufacturer

Based in West Palm Beach, FL, Bee Access makes and distributes temporary and permanent suspended access equipment including hoists, powered platforms, davits, tieback anchors, rigging, safety equipment and accessories, to the leading equipment rental companies in the world. Recognized multiple times as “Company of the Year” by our trade organization, we plan to double over the next few years with dozens of new products, supported by a passionate, collaborative and technical team.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Bee Access Designer/Drafter must balance tactical execution with an understanding of overall product and engineering strategy, to create layouts and drawings for innovative, safe and high-performing equipment used by workers suspended at-height on buildings, industrial facilities, bridges and other work sites. Excellent advancement opportunity, with reporting to an experienced VP Engineering.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Create detailed manufacturing, application and layout drawings using CAD models, for use in suspended scaffolding

· Research and provide product solutions and application support to our Dealers and end-users

· Assist in production of manuals and specification sheets

· Test new products to verify design intent through virtual or physical methods

· Develop a working knowledge of the applicable industry standards

· Work with Operations personnel to improve drawings, costs and manufacturing methods

· Assist in the creation and expansion of the Engineering teams' capabilities wherever possible

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

· Associate or Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience required

· 2 years SolidWorks experience required, with Adobe Indesign and Photoshop a plus

· 2 years experience in manufacturing environment, with construction industry exposure a plus

· Strong mechanical mindset with firm grasp of product development and project management

· Growth and entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for product development

· Highest standards of accuracy and precision in drafting, calculation, detailing and work product

· Comfortable interacting professionally with vendors, sales team, operations and customers

· Local to West Palm Beach, FL or willing to relocate
