Grade/Level: Certified Supervise: All certified and classified staff assigned to school.
Work Schedule:
226-day contract. While most responsibilities are during the day, there are a number of night activities throughout the year that are part of the job requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY
Support the Building Principal in administering the various functions of the school.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Master's Degree Required, Field of Study: Educational Leadership
Experience: Previous administrative experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.
Certifications & Licenses: Current Arkansas teaching license as a building administrator.
Other Requirements: 1. Successful completion of pre-employment background checks.

Essential Functions
- Assume responsibility for supervision and administration of the school in the absence of the Principal.
- Enforce discipline and attendance rules.
- Promote and protect the welfare and safety of students and staff.
- Supervise extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Evaluate certified and classified staff as assigned by the Principal.
- Counsel and provide guidance to students regarding personal, academic, vocational, or behavioral issues.
- Plan and lead professional development activities for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
- Prepare, maintain, or oversee the preparation and maintenance of attendance, activity, planning, or personnel reports and records.
- Participate in special education-related activities such as attending meetings and providing support to special educators throughout the district.
- Organize and direct committees of specialists, volunteers, and staff to provide technical and advisory assistance for programs.
- Attend and represent the school and the district at community, state, and professional meetings as assigned.
- Collaboratively develop and implement a shared mission and vision.
- Collect and use data to identify goals, assess organizational effectiveness, and promote organizational learning.
- Create and implement plans to achieve goals.
- Promote continuous and sustainable improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate progress and revise plans.
- Nurture and sustain a culture of collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectations.
- Assist in creating a comprehensive, rigorous, and coherent curricular program.
- Create a personalized and motivating learning environment for students.
- Supervise instruction.
- Assist in the development of assessment and accountability systems to monitor student progress.
- Develop the instructional and leadership capacity of staff.
- Maximize the time spent on quality instruction.
- Promote the use of the most effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the impact of the instructional program and management of operational systems.
- Develop the capacity for distributed leadership.
- Ensure teacher and organizational time is focused on quality instruction and student learning.
- Collect and analyze data and information pertinent to the educational environment.
- Promote understanding, appreciation, and use of the community's diverse cultural, social, and intellectual resources.
- Build and sustain positive and productive relationships with families, caregivers, and community partners.
- Implement a system of accountability for every student's academic and social success.
- Model principles of self-awareness, reflective practice, transparency, and ethical behavior.
- Safeguard the values of democracy, equity, and diversity.
- Advocate for children, families, and caregivers.
- Act to influence local, district, state, and national decisions affecting student learning.
- Assess, analyze, and anticipate emerging trends and initiatives in order to adapt leadership strategies.
- Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
- Adhere to all policies of the District.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
