Position Profile
- This position creates a single point of contact and responsibility for Purchasing
What you’ll do
- Ensure that the department’s output and performance meet standards of acceptability as determined by leadership
- Maintain and present department KPI’s
- Act as the single point of contact for the Purchasing Department with other departments
- Analyze departmental performance, recommend and implement improvements
- Ensure that all material and processes are ordered to support customer commitments
- Supervise and Train other buyers as required
- Approve timecards
- Perform employee reviews
- Negotiate with suppliers
- Support supplier rating system
- Analyze and maintain part parameters such as safety stocks, lead times, etc.
Performance Measurements
- Supplier On-Time Delivery
- Purchased part supply coverage (as set by safety stock levels)
- Cost Savings

Position Dimensions
- The candidate will supervise a team of three to five buyers and purchasing clerks
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
- Above average working knowledge of purchasing and planning processes
- Above average computer skills: EXCEL, Outlook and ERP systems
- Superior attention to detail
- Self-motivated initiative taker
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of procurement standards
- High level of understanding in our commodities (i.e. sheet metal, aluminum, extrusions and die cast)
Salary : $66,560 - $99,500
