What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Coordinator position at Behavioral Healthcare Talent?
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain employee records and update changes in payroll system
- Calculate and process deductions such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
- Generate payroll reports for management and accounting purposes
- Assist with year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or related field
- Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of general ledger accounting principles
- Proficiency in using HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software for payroll processing
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and working with financial statements
- Familiarity with payroll software such as Paychex, PeopleSoft, or Workday
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles and debits/credits
- Ability to perform accurate 10-key typing for data entry
