The Bel-Air Bay Club is looking for experienced, professional Banquet, and Cocktail and Food Servers along with Bussers to provide stellar service to our members and guests in a more intimate, small banquet and bar setting at the Lower Club on the beach. Previous catering and Banquets serving experience is required as well as experience serving in bars. There are 2 server roles and 1 busser role.
This is part-time position during our busy summer months and/or year round. Generally scheduled Wednesday through Sunday until Memorial Day with expanded days and hours in the summer through Labor Day. Come work with us! We welcome all qualified applicants.
Summary
The role of the Banquet Server is to ensure that our members and guests have an unforgettable experience. Servers will accomplish this through professional execution of standards, anticipation of guests’ needs and effective time management before during and after events.
Essential function
- Greet members/ guests and assist with the execution of their banquet event or restaurant service at one of our bars.
- Set up banquet area, tables and serving stations according to BEO and standards.
- Prepare and serve beverages.
- Serve food and beverage according to standard procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front and back of house areas.
- Remove dirty dishes from tables between courses and clear tables after the guest leaves.
- Replacing silver ware for the next course.
- Stock stations and complete all delegated side work.
- Coordinate timeliness of food delivery and execution before, during and after Banquet event or a la Carte.
- Breakdown of the events: including managing of linen, operating equipment and furniture in an effort to prepare for the next event.
Qualifications:
- ServSafe and TIPS certified desired.
- High level of professionalism.
- Previous serving experience.
- Some wine and beverage knowledge preferred.
- Strong oral communication skills, Spanish and English preferred.
- Excellent positive attitude and sense of urgency.
- Strong interpersonal skills (people skills).
- Must be willing to be practically involved and lead by example.
Work Hours:
This is a non-exempt, part-time, hourly position with a varied work schedule according to demand.
