JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assists in creating and following electrical design schedule, from specification concept to system up completion, while keeping to an overall project schedule.
* Execute and support the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that controls multiple generators which parallel to one or more utility sources
* Testing, evaluating, modifying and calibrating products and instruments.
* Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements
* Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes
* Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
* Interact with internal and external customers, accomplishing project milestones
* Create bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP system
* Create PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear
* Execute multiple projects simultaneously
* Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred
* 5-7 years of related experience
* Ability to create PLC programs using one of the IEC 61131 PLC Programming languages i.e. Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text or any other PLC programming language
* Ability to design, test, and commission control systems. i.e. systems with different PLC controllers in the same system, experience interfacing, designing controls with different manufacturers
* Ability to develop control software utilizing various PLC platforms.
* Expert knowledge on at least one of the following PLC platforms.: Schneider Momentum, M340, M580, AB Control, Compact Logix, Woodward MSLC, DSLC, Easy Gen, and LS5 Architecture
* Ability to interpret customer specifications and drawings, and apply them to design platform while considering industry regulations and requirements
* Ability to customize PLC software and hardware templates
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Expert ability to work independently and manage one"s time.
* Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Understand in detail the applicable NEC, UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI requirements and their applications in switchgear controls
* Understand protective relays, their functions associated with Generator, and Utility protection applications
* Excellent business and commercial skills
