Lead Wiring Design Engineer

A Lead Wiring Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Philadelphia, PA. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of engineering experience. Position is a full-time, direct opportunity with benefits.

Wiring Design Engineer job duties:
*Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining electrical wire harness detail, assembly and installation designs in an aerospace design environment. Candidate will develop, integrate and maintain critical electrical cable/wire harness detail, assembly and installation designs. This includes integrating the functional system requirements into an efficient logical and physical wire harness architecture throughout the vehicle. Knowledge requirements include selection of proper materials and parts selection based on electrical and environmental properties, functional separation based on systems safety requirements and build processes.
*Candidate will follow and look for improvements to documented processes, specifications and procedures that support safe and quality design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Candidate will analyze functional and physical requirements to assure the development of integrated designs and system architecture.
*Responsible for leading small team of 4-5 engineers and small project leadership.
*Works directly with the customer coordinate & maintain project deliverables and schedule.

*Travel 25% or less

Required Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree in a recognized engineering field from an accredited institution and 10 year of experience.
*Must be a U.S. Citizen
*3 years of experience with wire harness, electrical and/or mechanical design
*Ability to interpret provided engineering requirements and determine solution paths.
*Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, communicate technical information effectively with both internal team and external customers
*Manage time efficiently, and produce accurate designs
*Ability to learn quickly, multitask efficiently, and flexible enough to meet evolving customer prioritization of tasks
*Experience with aerospace, automotive, or industrial preferred but not required

Desired Qualifications:

*3 years of experience using wire design tools such as Capital Logic, Zuken E3, CADAM, etc
*Familiarity with aerospace production and wiring standards.
*Experience with following software: Mapper, WIRS, FASTR, Electrical Web Apps (WLI/ELI), CADDS, EWITS
*Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ASME Y14.100 drafting standards, SAE AS50881 design specifications, ITAR trade compliance
*Analysis skills to be able to identify and quickly resolve/mitigate issues

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary of $85,000 to $125,000 however Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
