BELKNAP COUNTY- Nursing Home
Hairdresser PT 24 hours Pay Rate Range $15.30 - $21.15

GENERAL SUMMARY:
 Under the general supervision of the Activities Director, cares for male resident’s hair and beards/mustaches and for female resident’s hair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: *

 Washes, cuts, styles, perms sets and dries resident’s hair.
 Maintains beauty shop equipment and orders all supplies. Maintains a clean and orderly shop.
 Sets up appointments for residents and gives to staff for daily assignments.
 Attends in-services or conferences as necessary and required to keep abreast of the latest techniques and equipment.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Performs other related duties as required.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

 Duties require completion of a high school diploma or GED and graduation from a beauty school with a current New Hampshire Cosmetologist license. One year’s experience in the beauty care field and experience with management of a shop required. Previous work with Geriatric residents preferred.
 Ability to speak, read, writes and follows instructions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
 This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
 This position is exposed to indoor and outdoor environments and may be subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, bloodborne pathogens, and physical, chemical and respiratory hazards.

Balancing, crouching, grasping, pulling, reaching, and stooping are required. An individual in this position will be required to carry or lift weights from 25-34 pounds.
