Job Summary
BELL Construction is hiring for an onsite Safety Engineer to join their team for commercial construction projects. The Safety Engineer will assists in the enforcement of Safety policies, programs, and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA standards.
Responsibilities
- Enforces BELL’s safety program to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment.
- Tracks and records all health and safety incidents.
- Communicates safety tips and best practices to project team and subcontractors.
- Documents hazards found during site safety inspections and ensures all issues are addressed and resolved timely.
- Conducts site walks to observe, learn, and work with project team and reinforce the culture of safety.
- Enforces site-specific safety plans and Safe Start meetings to ensure compliance with all aspects of safety by all site personnel including subcontractors.
- Maintains a safe work atmosphere by building relationships with clients, subcontractors, co-workers, and management.
- Assists with or conducts incident investigations and analysis.
- Provide assistance to Project Managers and Superintendents, with respect to job site hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation and safe material or substance utilization.
- Review and monitor the work plans and activities of each trade partner for safety-related concerns.
- Assist with all onsite injuries and required documentation/case management.
- Ensures compliance with safety handbook, policies, and procedures.
- Accompany all clients, partners, and regulatory agency personnel on jobsite tours.
- Maintain and inspect safety equipment and project site Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
