JOB SUMMARY :
To maintain the Quality Assurance program for the Company that conforms to the Company’s Sales, Marketing, Grow out, Processing and regulatory needs.
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of his or her assigned department. A Supervisor is expected to manage successfully the following, ensuring that dept goals are met, quality standard practices are being followed, GMP / SSOP and HACCP standards are understood, team member safety, and order fill expectations are being maintained, while ensuring a highly motivated and qualified staff, which would include administering discipline in accordance with our team member handbook.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following : Other duties may be assigned by manager.
- Supervisor will communicate daily with superintendent and operations managers, production scheduler to ensure that priorities and customer orders are understood and communicated effectively to staff.
- Make decisions and utilize staff to meet customer demands and fulfill dept goals for quality, safety, and productivity.
- Communicate with other dept supervisors and managers to ensure that staffing is best utilized, and priorities met.
- Training and development of team members for all key positions and backups.
- Selection of team members and administering of discipline and policy within the dept.
- Controlling of OT, waste, yields, and order fill to meet measured dept. goals.
- Communication of daily priorities, schedules and performance results vs. goal to hourly staff. Designation and utilization of hourly team members to fulfill departmental needs.
Fulfill obligations to safety teams and other task force teams.
Must exhibit unwavering proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :

Demonstrated basic knowledge of chicken processing, and specific knowledge of department processes and product mix. Demonstrated ability to effectively select, train, and manage staff to fulfill dept goals.
Ability to effectively administer discipline and coaching according to company policies. Effective decision-making skills.
Effective skills in comprehending and utilizing data provided from accounting and production reports.
- Desired HS Diploma or equivalent.
- College preferred but not required.
- Must have experience in a leadership role or demonstrated ability to function as an effective leader.
- Effective professional communication skills to both hourly and managerial personnel.
- This position would require daily operational discussions requiring the ability to communicate to team members of multiple languages basic English should be required with bilingual skills desired.
- Basic math skills, ability to effectively use calculator, stopwatch and spreadsheet data. Basic knowledge of scaling process and basic units of measure for weight.
- Effective decision-making ability and ability to prioritize and react to priority changes in rapidly changing environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook
- Basic computer skills including ability to effectively use email and basic Windows based applications.
