Facilities
The Warehouse Utility Associate maintains the shipping and receiving dock area. They arrange packages for shipment and receive in goods, store, and/or deliver appropriately. They are familiar with waste activities and maintain and organize chemicals and other waste for storage, disposal, and shipments. They provide safety inspections, light maintenance duties, and support manufacturing during peak cycles.
What you’ll be doing as a Warehouse Utility Associate
- Must have a passion around safety and be part of our safety culture. A good understanding of safety programs and following safe procedures is paramount.
- Keep assigned areas, as well as general areas, clean and organized.
- Operates powered industrial trucks and hand trucks to deliver and store chemicals and supplies to all areas of the facility.
- Inspects and maintains hazardous waste and chemical areas.
- Assists in preventive maintenance of equipment by completing regularly occurring checklists.
- Works within a team environment and maintains a positive, professional attitude with responsive communication. Displays initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Operates hand tools and power tools to assist in light maintenance requests.
- Completes assigned safety inspections.
- Learns and supports manufacturing equipment.
Skills You Bring To this Role
- Good computer skills
- Prior forklift experience (preferred)
- DOT hazmat and/or hazardous waste training (preferred)
What you need to be successful
- 1-2 years of related experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks
- Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues
- Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed
