We are a boutique optometry practice located on Spartanburg’s east side. We specialize in pediatric and adult comprehensive and contact lens exams, optometric vision therapy, brain injury/concussion, dry eye treatment, and ocular disease management.

EXPECTED CANDIDATE QUALITIES

Prior opticianry experience is required. ABO certification is preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist men, women, and children with appropriate eyewear selections
• Clearly communicate patient insurance benefits and advise on product selections
• Dispense eyewear – knowledgeable in eyewear measurements, adjustments, and repairs.
• Inspect eyewear for accuracy/quality standards & neutralize prescriptions on a manual lensometer
• Be knowledgeable in eyewear lines, lens materials, coatings and treatments
• Maintain accurate inventory and inputting of optical orders.
• Stay current on local and national optical industry news and trends
• Electronic Health Records management, Patient check-out
• Assist our team in providing the highest quality patient experience

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• This is a non-management job that will report to the practice director.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma, GED, or higher level education.

OTHER EXPECTED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Basic Computer Skills
• Knowledge of Office Equipment
• Accurate Data Entry
• Mathematical Skills
• A valid driver's license
• Electronic Medical Record Experience

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to speak, stand, talk, walk, see, hear (corrected or uncorrected) and to sit. The team member is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to read print of many different sizes. The team member must frequently bend, reach above the head, as well as forward, and use fine motor skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
