Position Summary:
Under the administrative/clinical supervision of the Director of Adoption, the PRN Adoption Therapist provides Diagnostic Assessment, Psychotherapy, and Case Management through Individual & Family Psychotherapy as well as Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) to clients and adoptive families. Services take place in the home and in the community. Work hours are flexible, some evenings may apply.
Responsibilities Include:
- Accept assignments of cases from the supervisor and jointly develops tasks and interventions that implement treatment goals.
- Provide Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation (PDE), Psychotherapy, and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), including, but not limited to:
- evaluations and assessments
- participation in the development of the client’s ITP
- crisis work – providing assistance and support in crisis situations
- support, including education and consultation for families and/or significant others regarding the client’s mental illness
- individual interventions
- symptom monitoring and self-management of symptoms
- assistance in increasing social support skills and networks
- coordination of necessary evaluations and assessments
- coordination of all services identified on the client’s ITP
- necessary follow-up to determine if services are adequately meeting the needs of the client
- access to resources in the community
- Supervise assigned clients and families and provides supervision support, education, and guidance.
- Complete all documentation in a thorough and timely manner and meets productivity requirements as established by the department.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
- Minimum Valid Ohio LSW or LPC required. LISW or LPCC preferred.
- Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes, and abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
