TITLE: District Equity Team Building Representatives - 5 Positions (1 for BHS, 1 for KMA, 1 for BMS, 1 for SB, and 1 for DE)
SALARY: $1000 Stipend for the 2023-2024 School Year, subject to grant funding
FUNCTION: Ensure that the district has a clearly articulated plan for building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment for all students, staff, and faculty.
- Develop a 3-year District Equity Plan and then continuously monitor that plan
The District Equity Team shall include: - Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent and/or Central Office Staff
- Building Principals/Assistant Principals
- School-based Staff
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: - To advise, provide input, and help prioritize the district-wide equity efforts
- Become familiar with tools for evaluating curricular materials for stereotypes and bias, and be willing to support colleagues in the process as well
- Serves as a liaison to colleagues regarding information about the teamwork and the development of the District Equity Plan
- Represents the Bellingham School Community's interests throughout the process
- Willingness to complete work in between meeting dates as described above
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be a current member of the Bellingham Public Schools staff
2. Must have attended a workshop/course with ADL, Gender Spectrum, Kate Kelly or Kalise Wornum
COMMITMENT: - Attend monthly/bi-monthly Equity Team meetings (TBD by team) - may include a combination of professional development days and after-school times
