Role Summary
The Director of Operations is responsible for making decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals for the facility. They are responsible for our individual State operations both Corporate and Affiliate partners. They are responsible for planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of business to ensure objectives and goals are met, supervising staff from different departments and providing constructive feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with third-party GMP manufacturers and negotiate contracts
- Direct supply chain sourcing
- Manage inventory levels to meet sales expectations
- Collaborate with sales/marketing/innovation teams on new products
- Oversee customer service and fulfillment
- Manage third-party logistics companies
- Liaise with leadership to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals and budgets
- Plan and monitor the day-to-day operation of business to ensure smooth progress
- Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback while setting a positive and confident leadership example
- Regularly evaluate the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and implement improvements
- Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
- Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
- Evaluate overall department performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Ensure that the company complies with legal and established industry regulations
- Champion proficiency for current industry practices including productivity, quality, planning, culture, employee safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP, GMP and FDA/USDA regulatory requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department

Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Required
- Travel to additional operating states is required on a monthly basis. All trips must be pre-approved by managers.
Education and Experience
- BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of experience at an operations level
- Experience in commercial food manufacturing industry strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the food supply-chain including cold-chain, inventory control/distribution
- Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
- In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service etc.)
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
