We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to work directly with Controller to monitor finances for 3 different companies. Position is responsible for maintaining all financial records, completing required tax forms, and generating regular reports for upper management. Successful candidate has at least three years experience managing comparable responsibilities as Accountant. Searching for ability to work with diverse staff in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing, and, occasionally, demanding environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with timely monthly close processes.
- Prepare/enter and/or review/post general ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly reports comparing budgeted to actual results and provide analysis.
- Daily record all financial transactions into general ledger and verify accuracy.
- Prepare daily reports for review by management.
- Process vendor invoices, including reconciliation, approval, past due accounts, and payment processing.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and maintain monthly.
- Assist with review of purchasing card charges.
- Prepare financial information for affiliated entities.
- Other accounting duties and projects as assigned.
- Monitoring and reporting cash balance.
- Assist in maintaining and preparing required tax documentation for monthly state and federal reporting.
- Maintaining cash forecast when borrowing under credit facility.
- Act as back-up for other areas, including, but not limited to: payroll processing, invoice coding, journal entry processing, informing business units of pay exceptions.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting
- 3 year’s general accounting experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis on Excel) database, and accounting software.
- Data entry and word processing skills, with accuracy
- Organized and detail oriented
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical accounting practices
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and function as part of a team
- Flexibility needed to handle varied responsibilities in a dynamic, growing environment
