Position Summary
Belmont Abbey College seeks a PT Evening/Weekend Library Circulation Assistant.
Job Responsibilities
The Part-Time Circulation Assistant provides basic circulation and reference support to the BAC students, faculty, and staff during night and weekend hours. The Assistant’s daily responsibilities involve managing the circulation desk, shelving library books and materials, logging circulation and reference statistics, and performing clerical functions like data entry. Additional duties include inputting data and assisting patrons in person, over the phone, over chat, and by email. The Circulation Assistant refers in-depth research requests to full-time library staff.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have a High School Degree plus a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a customer service role. An Associate Degree is preferred. Experience in a library or academic office setting is a plus. Familiarity with basic office equipment is preferred. The work environment is a library setting which requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds in order to reshelve books and perform general cleaning functions. The work schedule requires availability of hours including two or more shifts per week that begin at 6pm and end at midnight.
