DESCRIPTION
Summary: This position is responsible for assisting our OST morning and afternoon care team during our care program hours and to continue the mission in providing quality child care service within the Belmont Charter School community.
Responsibilities:

Reports to the OST director, OST closing coordinator, and assigned OST lead teachers within the program to provide additional support for pre-k and kindergarten groups

Assist in the school-day dismissal of enrolled after-care students and escort children to their assigned afternoon locations

Assisting in daily snack/ and meal serving, transitions, student breaks

Create and engage students in structured play (games) and mini activities or projects

Monitor student head count as students are dismissed from program

Actively supervise students during projects and play time

Assist in daily recovery of OST rooms/ spaces and materials and breakdown after OST hosted events

Assisting director and closing coordinator with student dismissal and late pick-up, when required

Accompanying students and lead staff on OST field trips and featured presentations

Assisting the OST director and lead staff with OST classroom and project preparations

Complete required child care professional development certifications (in compliance with OST Belmont’s Four Star rating)
QUALIFICATIONS

Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance (Act 34)

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)

Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114)
-
At least 1-3 years of child care experience within a child care facility or school-based program

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (or collegiate degree)

Two letters of recommendation

Current CPR certification is a plus

Mandated Reporter Certification is a plus

Basic computer, Internet, and social media skills

Excellent communications skills, particularly with young children

Creative, energetic, and passionate about after-school enrichment
Hours/ Shift Openings:
12:30-5:30PM Monday-Friday
2:30-6:00PM Monday through Friday
Compensation:
$15.00/ hour for 1st 90 days, $18/ hour after probation period, bi-weekly pay
