Case Therapist I will be providing services as part of the Emergency Crisis Assessment Support Program (ECASP) Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT). They will be a member of a multidisciplinary team and assist in providing crisis assessments, verbal de-escalation, engagement strategies, linkage and referral, and other services as directed. This position works closely with an Engagement Specialist during mobile crisis events who is a professional with lived experience with mental health and/or substance use. The Crisis Behavioral Health Clinician/Masters Prepared Therapist I is considered the clinician in the MCRT model.
Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is a mobile, responding to the location of the client, intervention seeking to achieve crisis symptom reduction, stabilization, and restoration of the client to a previous level of functioning, establishing support for the client's caregivers when applicable, mitigating the crisis event. MCR activities are tailored to the needs of the client and may include short-term intervention; crisis safety planning; brief counseling; consultation with other qualified providers to assist with the client's specific crisis; referral and linkage to community services; and, if the client cannot be stabilized in the community, facilitation of a safe transition to a higher level of care.
The crisis services system is based on SAMHSA’s six core principles:
1. Addressing recovery needs
2. A significant role for persons with lived experience
3. Trauma Informed care
4. Utilization of zero suicide/suicide safer care
5. Safety and security protocols for staff and clients who are in crisis
6. A crisis response partnership with local law enforcement, dispatch, And emergency medical services.
On-Call Shift Coverage:
This role requires on-call shift(s) per week:
On-Call Only Employees: minimum 2 shifts/week
Part-Time Employees: minimum 1 shift/week
Full-Time Employees: minimum 2 shifts/week
Shifts are as follows:
Mondays (12pm-8:30pm), Tuesdays (12pm-8:30pm), and Fridays (11:00am-3:00pm) with 1 on call shift on the Fri/Sat/Sun shifts per week.
Weekends/Holidays: 8:00am-8:00pm/8:00pm-8:00am (12-hour shifts)
