What you will have an opportunity to do:
- Hospitably greet, prepare and serve food and drinks to our guests. Uses guest name and engages with guest. Promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing portion control.
- Set ups bar for service. Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on occupancy and covers projections. Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality.
- Puts away any paper, plastic and beverage requisitions that came in that day
- Presents guests with menus and reviews the menu. Informs guests of specials and suggests appetizers and specialty items, "up-selling" whenever possible. Takes order, reviews and enters into micros.
- Follows resort steps of service as outlined in the outlet’s training manual. This includes items such as bread service, beverage service and table maintenance.
- Services other guests at the bar and the service bar, continuously observes bar area for any guest needs and makes sure that all guests are taken care of and have an outstanding experience. Flexible in responding to guest needs; takes ownership of guest problems and resolves them. Notifies management of any opportunity guests.
- Run food. Ensure plates in the window match ticket orders before they go to the table (checking especially for consistency and modifications). Modifications may indicate health or allergy conditions. Please be aware at all times: Allergic reactions can have potentially life threatening effects.
- Familiar with food allergens and handles any guest with food allergies with a high sense of urgency. Communicates this to Chef and immediate supervisor.
- Works together with server assistant to bus tables after each course and resets tables at the end of the meal for the next guest.
- Presents check to guests and responsible for collecting payment. Follows resorts check closing and cash handling procedures.
- Performs opening and closing (side work) duties as assigned by supervisor and weekly cleaning duties.
- Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
- Be familiar with job hazards for your position and puts safety first.
- Provide other services and duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or your department head.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be passionate about the hospitality business and posses a pleasant personality. Must be willing to work outdoors as needed in and out of the sun and should be prepared to deal with the Florida heat.
- Must meet appearance standards as outlined in our Crew Guide
- Must be able to read, write and clearly communicate in English.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year prior bartending experience and applicants will be evaluated for hire based on their knowledge of food and beverage service in conjunction with the quality and high level of service to be provided and the outlet that has the open postion.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Crew
- Must obtain Safe Serve certification within 30 days of hire and go through Alcohol Compliance training quarterly.
- Ability to use point of sale computer. Ability to multi-task, take direction and adapt to changing needs and at times stressful work environment.
