Position Overview:
Positive relationships are the cornerstone of Benchmark’s success. We take care of our employees so they can take care of our customers. The responsibility of administering our employee benefits, wellness, and leave programs falls to our Benefits and Wellness Specialist.
Ideal candidates for this position have high attention to detail, strong communication skills, and are knowledgeable of state leave and benefit guidelines.
Essential Functions of the Role:
Review and process benefit and COBRA enrollments, terminations, and life events.
Develop and maintain the Company’s wellness program, partnering with senior leadership to develop strategies aimed at reducing claim cost and increasing employee engagement.
Manage the Company leave of absence and disability programs, including handling all accommodation requests.
Track benefit premium remittance of employees on leave and coordinate payments.
Maintain accuracy of the account structure and carrier connections with various vendors.
Manage the Company wellness incentive program including reporting, payout, and ongoing tracking.
Review ACA statuses and prepare annual regulatory reports.
Manage the Worker’s Compensation policy, including processing claims, rate changes, and handling regulatory reporting and audits.
Assist with the onboarding of new employees.
Remain current on evolving regulations and legal requirements to minimize legal risk and ensure compliance.

Experience Requirements:
Three years of HR experience required.
Three years of benefit administration experience required.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
Mortgage experience preferred.
Education/Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources required; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced environment.
Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
Requires sitting, bending.
Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
Lifting requirements of 10 lbs. occasionally.
Minimal travel <5%.
