What you will have an opportunity to do:
The Quadrangle Club is the faculty and social club of the University of Chicago. Established in 1893, the Quadrangle Club has played and continues to be an important role in the intellectual fabric and life of the University of Chicago. Over the decades, the Club has been a place where Nobel laureates, faculty and numerous other scholars have hosted discussions about topics and ideas that have shaped the world. The Club is housed in a historic facility designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Must be able to lift, push and pull 40 pounds.
2 years hotel room or equivalent experience.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work mobile devices.
Positive attitude and self-motivated.
Must be in process or have completed the vaccine process for COVID-19 by time of job offer, and be willing to stay fully vaccinated (fully vaccinated means completing all doses of COVID-19 vaccine including any future booster requirements per schedule requirement of the CDC).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to communicate effectively with front desk agents and guests.
- Collect daily room assignments from front desk agents.
- Wash, fold and properly store bed linens, towels etc.
- Iron linens, pillowcases and duvets.
- Clean guestrooms, washrooms, hallways, corridors, common areas, linen room, and storage area.
- Maintain a well-organized storage area and linen room.
- Maintain par levels of linens and guestroom supplies.
- Stock guestrooms with towels, linens and amenities per specifications.
- Prepare beds to specifications.
- Interact with guests and address needs.
- Maintain guestroom supplies.
- Ensure storage areas are clean and well organized.
- Change lightbulbs and shampoo carpets as needed.
- Assist management with inventories.
- Notify management when supplies are needed.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist guests with luggage.
- Assist other areas and departments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
