The position is responsible for administering payroll in a timely manner and in compliance with all State and Federal Wage and Hourly, as well as providing support with cash funds on property. What you will have an opportunity to do: JOB SUMMARY: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. Maintain positive employee relations at all times. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Keep bank secure at all times. Answer department telephone within 3 rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette. Email and voice mail received during scheduled work week will be checked at the beginning and end of your shift (at minimum) and will be responded to within 24 hours Assist with account reconciliation within the accounting general ledger process as requested Prepare, research, and issue travel agent commissions Respond to travel agent, owners, and guest inquiries as received Assist with month end billing as needed File daily routing packs and receipts Crosstrain with other accounting positions to cover each other on days off. PAYROLL Review holiday, job codes, pay rates, transfers etc. to ensure accuracy. Ensure all time off & hours worked have been approved in a timely manner. Miscellaneous Payroll & labor data entry. Post tips, gratuities, service charges, and miscellaneous earnings every Monday. Post employee housing & miscellaneous deductions every Monday Finalize & Process payroll every other Tuesday. Prepare manual and replacement payroll check requests if needed Prepare and Maintain payroll reporting. Other responsibilities as assigned. CASHIER Manage cash machine user list Daily reconciliation of cash machine transactions with PMS and POS systems. Monthly audit of cash machine Submit change orders for the cash machine as needed Accurately prepare daily bank deposits for courier service pickup Responsible for emptying coins from laundry machines and filling the change machine, preparing deposits from laundry proceeds Prepare weekly Petty Cash reimbursement ! QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Previous hotel and accounting experience desired. Professional working proficiency in English. Familiarity and aptitude with computers. Must be proficient with basic math skills. Must be proficient Excel and Outlook. Must be detail-oriented and able to balance multiple responsibilities and tasks. Ability to cross train for other accounting tasks as needed. Have strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Have good communication skills with all guests and co-workers. Must be able to work in a stationary position for long periods of times. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
