JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for working closely with Global SAP EDI team and supporting different SAP modules (SD, MM, FICO, QM, intercompany, etc.). As a core member of the Global EDI team, the responsibilities will include planning activities, providing work estimates, developing functional design specifications, configuring in the SAP EDI transactions, testing, training, and developing documentation. Consulting with internal/external customers/partners, Global IT and IT Leadership for the optimization and harmonization of business processes.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with all SAP IT Project Leads as a member of the SAP implementation module teams assisting in planning activities, providing work estimates, developing functional design specifications, configuring EDI, testing, training, and developing documentation.
- Assist in establishing best processes for all EDI activities. This includes working closely with internal and external customers, EDI Managed Service provider, and other IT personnel to identify process gaps and define potential solutions.
- Provide support to SAP modules including support and testing of changes, releases, enhancement packages, upgrades.
- Drives adherence of EDI template and system standardization.
- Communicate requirements and changes with internal business partners and external customers/trading partners and Global EDI service provider.
- Support current EDI applications. Monitor and provide support of all EDI activities 24 x 7.
- Interface with business users and analyze business processes and specify/configure application to efficiently support those needs.
- Participate on process improvement teams utilizing Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
- Works independently, with guidance/supervision in only most complex situations.
- Develop functional specifications for ABAP programs.
- Support the training and knowledge management of the key user organization.
- Participate in the resolution of production problems 24x7.
- Participate in defining and integrating with other ERP modules/systems including SD, FI, MM, QM/PM, intercompany processes, and PI/PO/CPI.
- Conduct research on new and emerging EDI technologies and solutions that can be leveraged through existing and future investments.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of EDI concepts and transactions, particularly within the automotive industry is required. Expertise in ANXI X12 transaction sets including, but not limited to 830, 862, 866, 850, 856 and 810 is a MUST. Experience with other EDI standards, EDIFACT & VDA is strongly desired.
- Hands-on experience with any major EDI subsystem is desired.
- Knowledge of SAP Automotive Solution desired. Participation in ASUG, SAPPHIRE is a plus.
- Strong business process and system knowledge with the ability to quickly recognize problems and implement robust and efficient solutions.
- Knowledge of integration points with other SAP modules and systems (ex. SD, FI, MM, and PI)
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (ex. PMP, ASAP, Agile/Scrum)
- Basic programming knowledge and ABAP debugging concepts is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of analytical experience, Minimum 3 years SAP EDI experience.
- Experience with implementing EDI solutions within SAP for modules SD, MM, FICO
- Experience in full-cycle SAP implementations involving heavy EDI integration efforts.
- Experience working with a Managed Service provider for EDI strongly desired.
- Experience with EDI Middleware systems, including SAP PI/PO is strongly preferred.
- Experience using SAP Cloud Integration Suite for B2B integrations, including API Management a plus.
- Experience with SAP Modules a plus.
- Experience with SAP ABAP development a plus.
- Experience in S/4 HANA a plus
Skills:
- Strong business process and system analysis. Ability to recognize problems and implement solutions regarding EDI processes.
- Extremely customer focused with a strong sense of urgency.
- Strong interpersonal skills to successfully team with software vendors, outsourcing partners and KB regional & global business and IT associates.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks with the business in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with perseverance and the creativity to overcome obstacles to achieve project objectives.
- Must be able to perform as an effective member in a global, team-oriented environment, maintain a positive attitude, and achieve desired results while working with minimal supervision.
- ITIL knowledge required; ITIL certification a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related discipline.
- Participation in EDI industry related forums a plus.
- Greenbelt certification preferred
Position Requirements:
- This position requires approximately 20% travel annually, both domestic and international.
