SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Associate Vice President for Research DEPARTMENT: Office of Research
Basic Functions
- Prepares and provides accurate grant data/information to Associate Vice President;
- Assist in identifying grant opportunities from governmental, nongovernmental, foundations and other private organizations for the Office of Research;
- Work with faculty in proposal submission, grant accounting/compliance and timely reporting;
- Disseminate funding opportunities and sources to faculty through the Associate VP for Research;
- Other related duties as required by the Associate Vice President.
Principal Accountability
- Provides administrative support as needed to Associate Vice President;
- Work with faculty in development of proposal budgets in compliance with funding agencies and Benedict College guidelines;
- Responsible for maintaining accurate reporting for grant budgets and expenditure;
- Compliance, reporting and working with federal, state and non-governmental funding agencies;
- Ability to work effectively/timely completion of tasks.
- Bachelor’s Degree required but Master’s Degree preferred;
- Skilled in grants administration, grants accounting, or related field;
- Good knowledge with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher);
- Strong communication skills and organizational skills;
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse faculty, staff, and students;
- Other required skills to include word processing, electronic and paper file management, and spreadsheet familiarity.
Minimum Training And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required but Master’s Degree preferred with minimum two years of related work experience.
