Job Posting for Consumer Loan Underwriter I at Beneficial State Bank
As a Consumer Loan Underwriter I, you will analyze direct and indirect consumer applications, and authorize or recommend approval/denial of applications for consumer loans while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures within established lending authority. You will also establish and maintain relationships with vendors and Bank personnel.
This position is a unionized position through the Communication Workers of America.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for credit decisions on applications within your approval authority
Responsible for consistent communication with internal stakeholders, vendor partners, and auto dealerships
Corresponds with BSB staff to resolve questions regarding application information or decision
When applicable, effectively utilizes CRM to document member interactions and to track sales referrals and service requests
Possess an effective knowledge of our products and services with special emphasis on how each will improve our client’s financial success
Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and internal company policies, including but not limited to BSA / Anti-Money Laundering, Fair Lending, Privacy, and Anti-Discrimination, to the extent each applies to current job responsibilities
Makes recommendations to update loan policies and procedures as warranted
Actively participates in all Bank promotions and activities
Completes all online compliance training as assigned within specified due dates
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Previous underwriting experience is a plus
1 year as a loan officer experience in a financial institution
Demonstrated a broad knowledge of Banking policies and procedures and basic knowledge of credit fundamentals and ability to make sound credit decisions
