This position provides centralized COBRA/Direct Billing Administration support to geographically diverse locations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls from the Participant Service COBRA/Direct Billing phone queue regarding open enrollment and eligibility.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to participant inquires and document interaction and findings.
  • Send daily communications to insurance carriers to notify of COBRA enrollment changes via secure email and web portals.
  • Work with insurance carriers and COBRA Account Specialists to resolve coverage discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze carrier and system reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Import and/or manually enter data files into systems and maintain shared spreadsheets for the team.
  • Provide administration support to the COBRA division by managing customer communications downloads (electronic mail).
  • Assist COBRA Account Specialists with the review of participant refunds due and communicate with accounting as needed.
  • Pull trial and end of month premium remittance report detail and review client activity for review by team leadership.
  • Provide internal support to the COBRA department as needed.

Education and Experience:

Associates degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and a minimum 2 years general administrative work experience with data-entry experience preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English with participants, clients and other staff members in a professional manner and with a positive customer service presence
  • Thorough attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously
  • Customer service focus with strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills
  • Experienced computer skills desired; Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency required
  • Strong problem solving and reasoning skills including basic mathematics skills; accounting experience a plus
  • Excellent overall communication skills with the ability to successfully communicate explanations, instructions and deadlines in writing
  • Competence in operating typical desktop hardware and software including proficiency with COBRA administration software
