What are the responsibilities and job description for the Burner position at Benicia Fabrication?
Job Description
- Use a panograph, a hand torch, or a tractor-driven torch to burn the metal plate.
- Using forklifts or overhead cranes, retrieve material, work parts, and supplies by hand. • Deburr or grind the material
- Use safety equipment and work in a safe manner.
- On a CNC machine, burn metal components into shapes.
- Using a CNC machine, strip shell courses
- Using a track machine and a plasma machine, strip and bevel metal components.
- Using a CNC plasma machine, burn stainless steel components.
- Clean and package finished parts; make sure they're labeled with the job number, part number, heat number, and shipping instructions.
- Move large sections of plate and load tables using a forklift and crane.
- For plate parts, fill out stock transfer paperwork.
- Assist with other job-related tasks as needed.
Skills/Qualifications/Licensing:
- Ability to read a tape measure, protractor, level, and square is required.
- If a forklift is necessary, a valid California driver's license is required.
- Lifting capacity of 34 lbs.
Education/Experience
- GED or High School Diploma
- Previous experience working in a metal shop is required.
- Work with a Burny CNC controller is required.
- A minimum of one year of CNC burning experience is required.
- ·Previous experience as a Pantogragh operator a plus.
Machines & technologies you'll use:
- CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)
- CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)
Salary info:
$26 - $28 / hr
