Job Description Manchester Elementary Middle School seeks a Paraeducator - Behavior Support to work in our student support room! This position monitors and assists students in grades K-8 who come to the support room to take a break, fill out a behavior reflection sheet, and talk through conflicts with others. The Paraeducator - Behavior Support keeps appropriate documentation of students who access the student support room. Additionally, the Paraeducator - Behavior Support monitors students who may be assigned alternative recess or lunch.
The Paraeducator generally performs a variety of instructional and/or support duties to assist the school and teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students in groups or one-on-one teacher to student ratios. The Paraeducator supports students in all aspects of their education by supporting an environment conducive to learning. As a positive and nurturing member of the school team, this position understands and attends to a variety of students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This position supports school teams in the implementation of teaching plans and/or services for individual students according to their Individual Education Plan and/or programs designed by a teacher or other professional as directed.
Paraeducators work under the day-to-day direction of the staff member(s) supported, and under the direct supervision of the Principal. Teachers and/or special education personnel will provide specific directions and oversight for supervision and/or instructional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, compassion, and empathy when working with students, and professionalism when representing the school. To be successful, the Paraprofessional should have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Recognized Equivalent Highly Qualified Paraprofessional (HQP) through one of the following: -Associate degree -Successful completion (B-minus or better) -At least 48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning -Successful completion of an approved paraprofessional assessment test required Copies of transcripts and license(s) must be uploaded to the application for all licensed positions. Successful applicants to Licensed positions will be required to provide official transcripts to Human Resources before completion of the hiring process. Preferences: Experience in working with Students with Disabilities is preferred.
At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
Bachelor degree preferred
Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
