Is a non-exempt position responsible for the production of high-quality cardiovascular medical devices within a manufacturing cell. The assembler will work as part of a team and will be involved in detailed assembly and operation of various equipment and machinery according to documented procedures. This may include electronic assembly, casting/coating functions, mechanical assembly, and packaging. The assembler will also be responsible for cleaning tools and equipment, disposing of hazardous waste material, and adhering to safety guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble medical devices and related components, following specified procedures.
- Work in a controlled cleanroom environment, utilizing tools such as microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering equipment, adhesive bonding, and various machinery.
- Perform routine assignments according to specified and standardized procedures, with close and continual review.
- Conduct visual inspections and precision measurements on components and assemblies.
- Conduct tests on units using computerized test equipment.
- Repair and correct devices/components using microscopes and appropriate tools.
- Package devices, ensuring accuracy of all parts and completeness of documentation.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability of all parts and address quality issues.
- Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices and equipment during operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement/quality initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve quality and profitability metrics.
- Notify supervisor or lead of supply/material replenishment needs and any production difficulties that cannot be readily corrected.
- Assist in setting and monitoring individual goals and cell performance metrics with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment throughout the building.
- Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow English written procedures at a 6th-grade level.
- Good basic math skills at a 6th-grade level.
- Ability to speak, follow verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
- Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
- Good dexterity to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
- Ability to prioritize work and make critical decisions with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma required.
- 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Work Schedule:
- Start Time: 7:00 AM
- End Time: 3:30 PM
