Network Systems Engineer

Summary
Reporting to the Executive VP, the System Engineer role is responsible for the maintenance of existing IT Infrastructure systems and the implementation of new technology solutions and systems to support the business's operations. This will also include administrating critical business systems including (but not limited to) corporate email, anti-virus, network (LAN/WAN), identity management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and collaboration systems with a strong emphasis in the areas of enterprise security, administration and network management. The ability to develop, present and implement plans as well as strong communication skills with non-IT personal are essential. The System Engineer will at times work with a team of network specialists to resolve end user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to,
- Implement technological solutions to meet the needs of the business.
- Integrate new technologies and services into existing IT infrastructure.
- Install and/or configure new infrastructure hardware (i.e., servers, switches, routers, etc.).
- Manage the lifecycle of employee identities and their access to corporate resources.
- Document standard IT Operating Procedures for internal use of IT staff.
- Monitor and correct, if necessary, performance issues found in managed systems.
- Ensure security baselines are defined company-wide and implemented at the direction of management.
- Create troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
- Develop options for hardware, software, and vendors according to organization’s needs and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with company polities and guidelines.
- Configure, monitor and troubleshoot network problems.
- Responsible for Telephony, LAN/WAN, network security, network structure maintenance.

Technical Expertise
- 10 years experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide systems.
- Exceptional technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Cisco, Palo Alto and Windows.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, switches, network interface cards.
- Experience installing network cabling and patching telephony systems.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Experience with working with backup and data archival systems.
Work Conditions
- On-call availability for after-hours support. We cover 45 offices, 2 countries and 4 time zones.
- Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
Education
MCSE degree preferred. Cisco CCNA certification.
