Bergeron Protective Clothing (BPC) is a specialized company that has been selling and repairing Globe turnout gear and personal protective equipment (PPE) to fire departments since 1982. In recent years, we have expanded our offerings to include thermal imaging cameras, equipment, gas detection, gear extractors and dryers, vehicle stabilization struts, hose, nozzles, and more. With a team of over 20 employees, BPC covers New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

Role Description

We are currently seeking an Office Support Assistant to join our team in Epsom, NH, a small family-owned business with career growth opportunities. The ideal candidate must be able to work as a team player, be dependable, teachable, adaptable and have a willingness to learn. This is a part-time position that requires on-site presence. Hours would be 8:00am -12:00pm Monday - Friday, with opportunity to work afternoon shifts instead of mornings some days as well. This role has the potential to turn into a full time position eventually. As an Office Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure smooth operations within our office. This includes maintaining office supplies, managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, organizing files and documents, and assisting with general office tasks. Your role will contribute to the efficient functioning of our business. While also providing support to employees and customers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Prior experience in an administrative support role is preferred

Roles and Responsibilities:

Communication Management:

  • Answer phones, relay messages to the appropriate internal staff, and track any necessary follow-up.
  • Greet visitors and respond to emails in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Create a welcoming environment for all individuals within and interacting with the company.
  • Address questions from Sales Reps regarding customer orders.
  • Address pricing questions from Pricing Team, connecting with vendors on related tasks as necessary.

Accounting Support:

  • Fulfill tasks outlined by accounting staff in a timely manner.
  • Print and process paperwork for invoices received from vendors, directing the completed paperwork to the accounting department.

Office Administration:

  • Collect daily mail and differentiate items for direct delivery to Finance and those requiring processing/paperwork for the accounting department.
  • Maintain organized files.
  • Managing office supplies inventory, proactively reordering items as needed, and liaising with the Operations Manager to address rising expenditures or requests for non-standard items.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
