SUMMARY
Environmental Management, Inc., a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Consulting Operations Manager. We are a leading environmental consulting firm dedicated to providing exceptional service to our clients while promoting sustainable practices and protecting the environment. This position is being offered due to our transition into the Bering Straits Native Corporation accounting and HR department. The Consulting Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all environmental consulting and engineering projects and personnel. Their main objective will include managing the delivery of high-quality work products and promoting safe, organized, and cost-effective operations. The Consulting Operations Manager reports directly to BSNC’s Vice President of Environmental Services.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with the Vice President of Environmental Services to ensure effective operation and project coordination and execution.
- Lead weekly staff meetings and provide valuable insights and recommendations regarding project updates and changes.
- Promote safe, organized, and cost-effective
- Assist in identifying project opportunities and making decisions on project scope and resource
- Assist in providing client proposals and securing client
- Collaborate on proposal development to meet
- Act as Project Manager for an appropriate caseload of client
- Compose proposals, develop, and implement project budgets, prepare work plans, execute projects, perform fieldwork as needed, document and report field activities, liaise with regulatory agencies, communicate with clients, prepare technical reports, and provide technical
- Responsible for the successful delivery of projects in accordance with defined scope, budget, and schedule.
- Contribute to various projects in the areas of environmental assessment and remediation, hazardous materials management, health and safety oversight, engineering, and natural resource planning and permitting.
- Demonstrate professional communication skills through oral, written, digital, or visual forms to effectively collaborate with project professionals, regulatory agencies, and clients.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality work products that meet industry

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, Education, and Certification
- Accredited PhD/MS/MA/BS/BA in a science or engineering field related to the environmental area of study, such as civil, chemical, biology, environmental, geology, mechanical, physics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of environmental project/program management experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisor role or equal experience.
- Experience with Alaska regulatory requirements and best
- Relevant education and experience to be recognized as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).
Location and Commitments
- Onsite, in-person position at our Anchorage
- Occasional, part-time telework
- Able to travel and work in the field as needed, with exposure to outdoor
- Willingness to perform overtime and weekend (rare but occasionally necessary) work to ensure client projects are delivered on time.

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The job requires applicants to be able to maintain prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer with frequent opportunities to move about. Essential and marginal functions may require applicants to maintain the physical conditions necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for extended periods of time.
DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job is performed both in the office and the field. The office setting has exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The field requires gathering data and monitoring environmental conditions firsthand, with exposure to outdoor elements. Travel is required.
