The Opportunity *This is a remote role*

At Berkadia, our Vendor Coordinators play a critical role in delivering an exceptional and smooth experience for our clients, mortgage banking team and other business partners. Third-party reports play a critical role in commercial real estate transactions. These are reports on the building and the site and are required and relied upon by lenders, and often by investors. Third-party vendor reports are performed by third parties (hence the name) who are unrelated to the transaction and are often national providers. Lenders typically rely on third-party reports to confirm that the property is in good condition and to identify any necessary spending, both up front and ongoing. 

  • Work as a team to order and provide all third party engagement reports for the mortgage loan closing process.
  • Review OmniView database for approved vendor list, if vendors are on the approved list update order form and return to Mortgage Bankers and or Underwriters; if a vendor requested is not on approved list submit request to Compliance group on behalf of the Mortgage Bankers / Client.
  • Coordinates the identification of three approved vendors for each report type to procure bids based on location, time and cost; obtains the bids from each of the vendors within 12/24 hours.
  • Provides the updated Third Party engagement order form to our Mortgage Bankers
  • Create SharePoint site for Generic; Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae deal types
  • Maintains tickler and status file to monitor and track timely receipt of draft report / final reports
  • Coordinate with India office for overflow work to prepare draft engagement letters
    Other duties as assigned.
  • Work schedule includes one week per month of Pacific time zone business hours (M-F 8:30 am - 5 pm Pacific time)

What you will need to be successful in this role

  • Minimum one year prior experience in a similar position, with a High School diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills- must be confident and comfortable in speaking with internal team members and external vendors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable on a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications using Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce (OmniView).
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a larger team with a demonstrated flexible attitude.
  • Motivated to achieve personal and departmental goals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs (must work west coast hours 1 week a month)
