Facilities Associate

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Associate will perform a variety of equipment preventative maintenance and services, building and exterior maintenance tasks that contribute to upkeep and safety of operations at BSM.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete work orders as assigned
• Building maintenance
• Occasional painting/drywall repair
• Minor plumbing repairs and maintenance
• Minor electrical
• Lawn and grounds maintenance (mowing/shoveling/raking)
• Perform scheduled inspection of major building components
• Participate in maintenance of fire suppression systems
• Maintain regular and emergency lighting systems
• HVAC work
• Maintain main mechanical room components (inc. pumps and filters)
• Ensure optimal and continuous operation of boiler system by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary
• Work with contractors/vendors
• Other duties as assigned

Regulatory Responsibilities  

• Conduct all work in compliance with FDA, 21 CFR 210 and 211, other regulatory agency requirements and BSM approved procedures

• N/A

Experience

• Three (3) to five (5) years (preferred) general maintenance experience and knowledge in all common aspects of building maintenance including but not limited to: HVAC Systems, fire suppression, smoke control, minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting, drywall repair, and other major building systems

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Post-secondary Trade School/Technical Institute education preferred

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to remain stationary (stand) on hard surfaces for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly push/pull forces up to 100 lbs.
• Frequent climbing of stairs and infrequent climbing of ladders
• Occasional crouching, bending, and kneeling
• Satisfactory audio-visual acuity
