Drafter BIM/CAD Specialist

At Berners Schober, we design with integrity and purpose, and we create spaces that inspire.  Our Mechanical Engineers are directly involved and responsible for the planning, designing, and engineering of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for educational, health care and/or commercial buildings.  

Position Summary:

The Drafter BIM/CAD Specialist reports to the Project Manager (Architect or Engineer) and is responsible for setting up and maintaining project technical drawings for building construction utilizing Revit and/or AutoCAD software.   

Key Accountabilities

• Communicate and coordinate with project team members.
• Setup and assemble drawing sheets utilizing Sheet Set Manager or Navigator.
• Prepare drawing plans and details as directed by Project Architect/Project Manager, and other members on the design team.
• Review and interpret markups and redlines and properly draft into computer aided drawing.
• Assist with production of construction drawing schedules.
• Visit jobsites to gather required information to complete drawings.
• Assemble drawing sets for uploading and printing.
• Prepare close-out drawings for final document storage.

Education & experience requirements:

• Technical school graduate.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to meet deadlines and schedules.
• Strong working knowledge of computers and software as they pertain to AutoCAD and Revit/BIM.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with BIM360, Bluebeam, and MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) a plus.
