Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing senior level accountant services with an emphasis on accounts receivable, including general ledger account reconciliations, analysis of accounting data and assistance with preparation of monthly financial statements.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

• Oversees billings process, including setup, preparation and adjustments to automated billings.
• Processes change orders and perform analysis as needed.
• Reconciles accounts receivable to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
• Analyzes accounts receivable aging report monthly.
• Prepares general ledger journal entries as required.
• Assists with monthly financial statement close process.
• Enhances accounting controls by recommending policies and procedures.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with all levels of staff.

This position is Full-Time, Exempt and reports to the Controller.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 - 10 years' experience as an accountant for medium - large sized corporation.
• Must have experience in billings.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.
• Advanced analytical problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work well under pressure and within short deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry or for a contractor.

Travel Requirements

• 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Quiet environment.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
