Purpose and Essential Duties
The primary purpose of the HVAC Technician I is to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install HVAC, plumbing and mechanical components/equipment. Perform Service projects/small jobs from beginning to completion and ensure total customer satisfaction throughout.
HVAC Technician I’s responsibilities include:
- Installation and commission of a wide variety of HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of HVAC equipment.
- Unload material and assist with staging materials.
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.
- Install water treatment equipment, piping and controls.
- Establish and maintain clear communications with customers while both on and off the customer job sites.
- Assist in maintain inventory and tool procurement of individual service vehicle.
- Promote and perform all aspects of BMCC's safety procedures and policies.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Current Licensed Technician or verifiable experience in service of commercial HVAC systems. Holds an EPA Certification.
- Ability to troubleshoot, possessing mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Maintenance experience with chillers, boilers, pumps, AHU's and other equipment.
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification preferred
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs, be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist.
- Must be able to climb ladders, work both inside and outside, and around moving equipment safely.
